Underwater Awe

A Melbourne photographer once told me to approach portrait photography in the same manner as I would photograph objects. I find that idea challenging - what I enjoy most about portraiture is the pursuit of capturing a genuine slice of a person's character and story. Perhaps that's why I like candid photos more than posed photos.

I am having fun with this photojournalistic style for my people photography and street portraits. I am also enjoying creating unique and fun visual styles for my corporate photography work, character portraits and professional portraits and would love to shoot more! Please get in touch if you're interested in being a subject for my lens.

Underwater Awe depicts how life-streaming technology has transformed our instinct to question and validate the reality in front of our eyes.

When most people pose for the
camera, they unconsciously project the same image of themselves that they've seen hundreds of times before.

For this reason, my preferred portraiture style is natural and spontaneous. The result is a
much more memorable photo.
