No doubt you've lived through an occassion when you've been subjected to image after image of embarassing photos from your childhood in front of your mates. That's why, whenever I photograph children's portraits, I think about capturing something that they'd be happy to show at their 21st birthday.

When most people pose for the
camera, they unconsciously project the same image of themselves that they've seen hundreds of times before.

For this reason, my preferred portraiture style is natural and spontaneous. The result is a
much more memorable photo.
